i hate when people feel superior to belittle others because they have a specific knowledge someone else don't have.
my friends know i grew up in an abusive household with a mom purposely stop me to do anything by myself, i'm sure in her mind it will make me stay blocked in her house forever, so of course there are some things i don't know because no one ever taught me.
my friend was talking about a recent "adult purchase" they made, and i was genuinely interested, asking questions, probably dumb ones seeing their reaction. they were arrogant to me when replying like "anyone would know that what do you think duh".
not only them but another person is like that to me, and i noticed something...it's usually people that lack intelligence on other basic things, they are often wrong and force to say they are right, or for example they can't be respectful, force their choice or opinion, or competitive because they need to step on others, as if since they need to feel better on something they will brag a lot about it AND attack others.
but these people are happy when i can be here for them when they need a ear, being available for their rant or any support, they know i NEVER judge even when it's their turn not to know and they can't even show the same in return, emotional intelligence should be as important as other types of intelligence. being smart is also being kind to your friends.
and you know what i will even say i am smarter than pretentious people i said what i said, because i admit when i don't know it won't kill me or show i have no value, i will never mock someone for not being on the same knowledge level, i will not overcompensate or will feel better by stepping on others.
the fact an ex high school friend (bully) was making me feel like i was childish for liking cartoons or board games at my age as if it was being immature, and wanting to do what i and only i wanted, sorry for being true to myself i guess. because to her, acting "adult" was lying about drinking or smoking or trying to do what everyone else do just to fit in and never admitting anything lol.
