cant i make my own choices?

In regards to my boyfriend of 11 years, he seems to have forgotten our past conversation about me not wanting to move. We don’t really speak that often anymore, but he does tell me that he loves me and misses me. I tell him that I love him too, and I do still care about him and do love him, but maybe in a different way. I told him that I had absolutely no intention of moving to North Carolina and when he said that he wasn’t sure about us I said maybe I’m not sure either and I meant it. I’m sorry but I meant it. I can’t hide how I’m feeling but now I feel Like I’m still trapped. Is there really anything wrong with me making my own choices to live where I want to live? Am I wrong to want the freedom to live the life that I want to live? Am I a selfish monster? Both I and my therapist agreed that Me moving would be very detrimental to my mental health, especially if it’s that far away. I wish I had agency. I wish I could have a different life. One that didn’t feel trapped by a relationship. I wish I could make my own destiny. Is that possible?
