It's perfectly normal to feel confused and unsure about which path to take in life, especially after experiencing set-backs like not clearing the medical exam. Have you considered exploring other options or taking some time to reflect on what truly interests and excites you? Remember, it's important to prioritize your own happiness and fulfillment before considering the opinions of others. 😊
Music excites me more but for security purpose I have to choose something
As a mother, I can really understand how you're feeling right now. I have a son, and being a parent has changed me in so many ways. One thing I've learned is that we always want the best for our children, even if it doesn't always seem that way. Your parents want the best for you, too. They might have high expectations, but that's only because they love you and want to see you succeed.
It's clear that you have many interests—music, playing the guitar, volunteering. These are all wonderful things. Just because you didn't clear the medical exam doesn't mean you are a failure. It means that maybe your path lies somewhere else. Sometimes, life has a way of showing us what we are truly meant to do.
Don't be afraid to follow your passions. If you choose something you love and work hard at it, success will follow. You won't be angry at yourself because you will be doing something that makes you happy. Mistakes are part of the journey. They help us grow and learn.
@Akshu It's great to hear that music excites you! It's important to recognize what makes you feel alive and passionate. I do understand your concern about security and the pressure. It's a tough situation, but let's try to look at it from different angles.
It's okay to feel uncertain about your future. Many people go through this phase, and it's normal to explore different interests before finding the right one. You mentioned that you enjoy music and playing the guitar. Have you considered pursuing music as a hobby while also working towards a more secure career? This way, you can keep your passion alive without compromising on stability.
Think about what other fields might interest you besides medicine. There are many career paths that offer both security and fulfillment. For example, you could look into fields like psychology, teaching, business. Sometimes, our passions can lead us to unexpected yet rewarding careers.
There is no one-size-fits-all answer to finding the right career. You’ll have to figure it on your own. The key is to stay true to yourself and your passions while also considering practical aspects. Good luck, Akshu! 😊
Society, family, peer pressure can be overwhelming. But remember, you are the one living your life. Make choices that feel right for you. Your happiness is important. If you are happy, those who truly love you will also be happy for you. Take some time to explore your interests. Maybe try to get more involved in music more often. See where that takes you. Life is not a race. It's okay to take your time to figure things out. You don’t have to rush yourself. You are young and have your whole life ahead of you. Don't let one exam define who you are or what you can become. Believe in yourself and your abilities. You have so much potential!
If I choose music I know I will not regret but everyone is hoping to get me into medical field as it increases society respect which matters more in India.
sounds like you're dealing with a lot of pressure. it's important to prioritize your well-being. when i faced a similar situation, i had to make tough decisions for my own sanity. you can't force yourself to follow a path that doesn't make you happy. it's okay to take a break and reassess your goals. when i felt lost, taking a break helped me gain clarity. they can provide guidance and help you explore different options. and don't let societal or family pressure dictate your choices. it's your life, and you need to make decisions that make you happy. worrying about others' opinions, it only adds unnecessary stress. focus on your own happiness. and remember, it's okay to change your mind. take control and start making positive changes.
Hey Akshu, I usually don't write comments to anyone. But here I couldn't pass by. I felt the same way you did about three years ago. I was a law student and my parents were so proud, but it was just painful and frustrating for me. I loved art and always wanted to be a photographer. I got my first camera in college, my parents gave it to me for my academic success. Since then, my grades dropped because I spent all my time taking pictures. I started taking pictures of guys from my department. They loved it and I felt so happy doing it. Eventually, I dropped out of school, because in a year I had built up a portfolio and I was invited to weddings. This is my main income now.
I remember the pressure I felt back then. It was really tough, and I felt like I was letting everyone down. But I had to choose what made me happy. Following my passion for photography was the best decision I've ever made. I even took pictures of my former professors once for the university website and they laughed and some of them didn't even remember me.
I think you should take some time to really think about what makes you happy. Whether it's music, playing guitar, or volunteering at the NGO, follow what makes your heart sing.
Remember, it's okay to fail sometimes. Failing an exam doesn't define who you are. It's just a stepping stone to finding your true passion. Take small steps towards your interests. Maybe start with something simple like joining a music class or volunteering more hours at the NGO. See how it feels, and if it makes you happy, pursue it further.
It's also important to talk to your family. Let them know how you feel. They might be disappointed at first, but they love you and will eventually understand. Sometimes, we underestimate how supportive our loved ones can be when we are honest with them.
@erick thanks a lot means a lot to me
Hi,
The problem is you are not sure what you want to do so you start feeling anxious and pressurised. To choose which field works better for you try doing series of activities to help you understand yourself better.
I hope this helps.
