I found that I have bipolar

Hello! I am a woman and I have 24 years old. When I had 19 years old I had my first depression episode that involved hearing voices, smells and tactile hallucinations. I was in first year at College and I was very stressed in that period of time. I received help during that time and I started to take medication. I was ok for a few years. I understood wrong that I can stop my medication so I did. I started to hear voices again and I called the mental health hospital. I started another treatment. This time the treatment didn't helped me so much. I worked, but I cryed a lot even at work. After a while I started to hear voices again and I went to the ER. After I talked with the doctors they told me I need to stay more weeks until they will find a proper treatment. This year I found that I have bipolar disorder. I did therapy for 1 year, but now I don't afford it. I am confused. I don't know what I can do for my health to prevent another episode. The treatment is helping me a lot, but I don't have a job. Could you tell me more about what kind of jobs can I have? I need to mention that I have social anxiety as well.

I can't work in the field that I finished my studies in College, they don't accept people with bipolar disorder. I am very disspointed, but I need to try to find something to gain some money.

In the last job I heard voices more at work rather than another place. How can I prevent that?

I didn't do nothing complicated in my last job, I had some products and I put them in boxes and bags. Do I need to find something with less stress?

Thank you very much! Big hugs!

Hi! my friend has bipolar disorder.... so I understand what it is.... she has exacerbations just on the background of stress. So I think you should choose a less stressful job. You can't stop taking the treatment prescribed by the doctor. You should also undergo psychotherapy. You need to learn to manage yourself and your emotions. Choose a job where there is little socializing.

I'm just heartened by your story! To suffer like that since you were 19. I clearly understood that you need to take your medication. And I also realized that you got worse when you worked. You should choose another job, that's for sure. Why were you crying at work? Why do people cause anxiety? I think it's never too late to change your major, it'll work out!

Hi, I too am going through psychotherapy and treatment. I think you need to reevaluate your thoughts and reactions to stress so you don't have exacerbations. That's what my therapist always tells me. I read your story and realized that you get discouraged easily. Read about therapy for bipolar disorder on the internet. I will always support you here in the app.

Hi! I know a girl with bipolar disorder, she is just wonderful! I think you are a very nice person too! Don't lose heart. learn to live with your illness, accept it, don't be afraid of its manifestations. It's just your specialty. I'm sure you'll feel better right away.

Hi! you wrote that you have a lot of social anxiety. maybe that's why you feel worse at work? try to find a job that doesn't require a lot of socializing. But still, you need to go to therapy to learn how to communicate harmoniously without fears.

Don't be discouraged, if you rest and learn to deal with stress properly, the disease will recede, I'm sure!!!! My neighbor also has bipolar disorder, he tries not to overwork. You need a job where you feel comfortable
