Hello!

First, do not rush to diagnose yourself. Even if it is ever confirmed, you should not drive yourself into its framework and think of yourself as different.

Often the reason that a person cannot concentrate is that the mental resource is spent on suppressing unexpressed emotions and unlived states. For clarity, I will give a simple example. Imagine a pot with boiling water. What happens if you press it tightly on top with a completely sealed lid? Sooner or later, the pressure inside will reach a maximum, and the pot will explode.

The same is with the psyche - without giving vent to accumulated emotions, tension, sooner or later we can “explode”. Before it happen our psyche spends an enormous amount of resources to restrain this pressure.

Therefore, first of all, it is important to understand where the resource, which is not enough for studies, goes to.

To do this, you need to start getting the accumulated negative emotions out of yourself. How to do it? There are many techniques, I will describe two of them.

The first technique is to take a notebook and a pen, set a timer for 20 minutes and write whatever comes to mind. It is best to do this in the morning. Do this technique daily for at least one month. Gradually, removing one layer after another, you will come to the root causes of your state.

The second technique can be done once a week as needed. Its essence is the same as that of the previous technique, but the form is different. You need to draw your state, i.e. reflect on paper what you have inside.

When you reduce the internal stress, you can proceed to the second stage - the technical one. Attention control is a skill that can be developed. This is where time management tools come in handy. For example, a plan for a day gives good support for the psyche and develops self-discipline and organization. Study 1-2 books on time management and pick up a few techniques for yourself.

I wish you good luck in your studies and in all other tasks!

Maybe you can be having undiagnosed ADHD, but a bigger question arrives that what if you cannot focus because you simply don't like what you're studying, maybe you're investing and trying to invest your focus on something which you don't really want to achieve or are curious to learn about, maybe it's just a matter of interest, because ADHD doesn't really just exist in cases of lack of focus on studies, if one really has it, they can't focus in any task normally, and get mood swings, energy swings,

But if you sense it then firstly I'll advice you to see a psychiatrist and follow what he/she suggests, because professional help at the right time can prevent things going way to wrong

At the beginning I wondered this as well but after trying many things I realized that I really love the subjects that I have chosen . Also this happens not only with studying but other things as well . I can't get a psychiatrist because my parents are against it and there's no other way I can get help from ..Also it's not lack of focus .It's had for me to diverge my focus . I get mood and energy swings very easily . Like sometimes I can do a task (like studying ) for 4-5hours straight and sometimes it's so damn hard for me to start . In general it's the problem of starting any task . All I can do is to try different methods at home itself because of my parents .

Hey I’m sorry to hear that

I feel diagnosing yourself at home isn’t that appropriate and then starting to stress about it too

what if you simply have lack of interest in what you’re investing your time in, maybe that subject is not attracting you enough to hold your attention, try to diverge yourself to something different maybe its just a matter of interest and not ADHD

But I’ll really suggest you to see a doctor please, if you really are suffering from it then you need medical help, and certain therapy sessions and medications

I understand you maybe your parents are not being understanding enough, but you have to make them understand my friend, you have to bring them out of this box and make em thing about mental health as something concerning than something as a taboo

I get it they are from a different generation and do not grasp concepts so easily but this is nothing new but simply the concept of being healthy and they should be concerned if something is bothering you, educate them about this superficially and convince them to be your support and take you to a good psychiatrist

I hope you heal soon, we’re with you
